About the performer:

Alfonse Ciaccio has carried on a love affair with the guitar since the age of 8. The result of this affair has been a lifelong pursuit in the perfection of his craft. Mr. Ciaccio has studied the classical guitar with Mrs. Mary Anthony, famed protege' of the Spanish master Narciso Yepes, and with Dr. Matthew Slotkin of Mansfield University and the Eastman School of Music. Mr. Ciaccio's main emphasis being solo jazz guitar arranging and performing, he studied with jazz guitar luminaries Gene Bertoncini of New York City, Joe Negri of Duqesne University and Steve Brown of Ithaca College. Mr. Ciaccio has been an endorser of Heritage Jazz Guitars, Takamine classical guitars, Paul Mel classical guitars, Richard Cogger classical guitars and La Bella strings. In addition to numerous radio, television and sideman appearances, he has one solo project "Pieces of My Heart" to his credit. At present, however, Mr. Ciaccio has dedicated himself to the study of the renaissance lute. He has studied with Deborah Fox of NYS Baroque and presently with Scott Pauley of Chatham Baroque. It is his deepest hope that the beauty of this music will fill the room and the hearts of his listeners.
