Program Description

Program Description:

A stray cat attacked by a husky is left with both hind legs paralyzed. While the only option seemed to be euthanasia, the attending vet, Dr. Betsy Kennon, suddenly heard a voice clearly telling her one thing - don't put this cat to sleep. The adventure that followed was one of inspiration, the healing power of animals, and the breaking down of misconceptions about cats. Scooter, despite two paralyzed legs, and absolutely no prompting, becomes a little beacon of hope, happiness and comfort to all the patients he visits.  "The connection animals make with humans is more profound than anything we make person to person", says Betsy.  His story, "Scooter the Therapy Cat", is told by the vet who owned and loved him. It is one for the history books. All proceeds from the sale of the book benefit Animal Protectors animal shelter in New Kensington.
