Third Tuesdays at the Movies: "The Holdovers"

A curmudgeonly instructor at a New England prep school remains on campus during Christmas break. He soon forms an unlikely bond with a brainy but damaged troublemaker, and with the school's cook, a woman who just lost a son in the Vietnam War. These three very different shipwrecked people form an unlikely Christmas family, sharing comic misadventures during two very snowy weeks. The real journey is how they help one another understand that they are not beholden to their past-they can choose their own futures.                                                                                                 Rated R for language.
