Join us to read and discuss current fiction and non-fiction. Books are supplied by the library.

Join us for a special afternoon folk performance by Pittsburgh singer songwriter, Folk Indie Bob. He will be joined by accomplished poets Alisa James, Shaheen Dil, and Dora Odarenko (host).

No experience necessary!  Learn chess and have fun.  Club meets every other Saturday.  

Join us at the library to learn how to play American Mahjong. If you already know how to play, all the better! We will begin on Monday, Feb. 10 and play on alternate Mondays from 10:30-1:30pm.

Join us in the Makerspace each month, where we’ll provide a different felt sewing project you can make using our stuff! Materials will be available any time the Makerspace is OPEN. 

Immerse yourself in a world of mystery and yarn! Once a month we will meet and discuss a book while knitting or crocheting our own projects. There is nothing better than a good book and a craft!

This is a great class for those who are just starting to learn about music or new to music altogether!

In 1943, changes in WWII military priorities led to halted mail posting/delivery, with a subsequent drop in soldiers’ morale. To fix this, the Women’s Army Corps’ all-Black battalion, the 6888, was sent to tackle years’ worth of backlogged mail.

These weekly, one-hour FREE meditation classes will be taught by monks from the Pittsburgh Buddhist Center. They are designed for beginners as a gradual training program in secular meditation practice.

Help us drum in the summer at the Oakmont Library!

In 1926 work began on the Allegheny River Boulevard project which connected Oakmont and Verona to Pittsburgh. By 1934 the new roadway reached Oakmont.

During the summer months, we will hope to meet at a picnic shelter in Riverside Park.  If you are a regular, check your email about weather changes. If weather is inclement, we will meet at the library.
